Motorcyclist killed in I-76 crash

A motorcyclist was killed in an accident late Thursday night on the Schuylkill Expressway near Girard Avenue, police said.

The accident occurred around 10:30 p.m. and caused the closure of Interstate 76 in both directions.

Police said the eastbound lanes would be closed for at least several hours while the accident was being investigated.
