Philly man dies in I-76 crash

The victim, Jamal Ferrell, lost control of his vehicle and was not wearing a seatbelt, police said.

A 29-year-old Philadelphia man died early Saturday after losing control of his SUV on the Schuylkill Expressway, police said.

At about 12:40 a.m., Jamal Ferrell was driving a 2002 GMC Envoy west, between the Grays Ferry Avenue and South Street exits in the city, when he struck the left concrete barrier, causing his SUV to overturn, the Pennsylvania State Police said.

Ferrell, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead by medics at the scene. No further information was available.
