LOVE sculpture to return in time for Valentine's Day
There are tentative plans for it to pass a few iconic Philadelphia locations on a flatbed truck en route to JFK Plaza.
After a year away, the LOVE sculpture will come home in time for Valentine's Day.
The iconic Robert Indiana piece was removed a year ago for a new paint job while JFK Plaza underwent major renovations. The face-lift also gave the city an opportunity to correct a mistake it discovered it had made 30 years ago — the sculpture had been painted the wrong color.
City spokeswoman Ajeenah Amir said the sculpture should return on Tuesday Feb. 13. There are tentative plans for it to pass a few iconic Philadelphia locations on a flatbed truck en route to JFK Plaza and welcome back festivities at the park.
Amir said more details will be released next week.
