Nate bringing rain to Philly region

The heaviest downpours are expected west and north of the city.

The remnants of the storm named Nate will bring rain to the Philadelphia area today.

Showers and thunderstorms will move from west to east with the heaviest rains north and west of the city, the National Weather Service says.

New rainfall amounts of between a quarter to a half inch are possible in the city and to the west, less in South Jersey.

It will also be unseasonably warm and humid with a high of 80 predicted for the afternoon.

At the Shore, periods of gales are possible, but not as much rain, the NWS.
