Flood warning, advisory in effect; tornado warning expired
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 3 p.m. in the region; storms already are popping up.
A flash-flood warning is in effect until 8:30 p.m. for parts of Bucks and Burlington Counties as strong thunderstorms continue to drench portions of the regions.
In the warned area, rain has fallen at rates up to 2 inches an hour, the National Weather Service said.
A flood advisory remains for much of the Philadelphia metro area, and the Storm Prediction Center has the entire region under a severe-thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m.
A gust of 55 mph, along with 0.75-inch hailstones were reported in Pottstown, the weather service said.
The agency had issued a tornado warning for parts of Chester and Montgomery County, however, no sightings have been reported, and he warning has expired.
