Joey Porter Jr., a senior cornerback from North Allegheny High School near Pittsburgh, announced Tuesday on Twitter that he has made an oral commitment to Penn State for the class of 2019.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Porter, the son of former Pittsburgh Steelers all-pro linebacker Joey Porter, is rated four stars by 247Sports.com and three stars by Rivals.com. He chose the Nittany Lions over Louisiana State, Pittsburgh, Miami and Nebraska, among other schools that made him offers.

Porter, of Wexford, Pa., is listed as Pennsylvania's No. 1 high school prospect by 247Sports, and No. 9 by Rivals.

He is the 16th player to make a commitment to Penn State for next season and the fifth defensive back. He is just the second Pennsylvania high school player to commit to the program.
