The latest: Temple freshman guard Nate Pierre-Louis equaled his season high with 11 points in Saturday's 76-73 loss at Houston. Pierre-Louis, who is strong on defense, has been receiving more playing time after seeing limited action earlier in the season. … The Owls are looking to snap a three-game losing streak that began with an 84-66 loss at Georgia and continued with a home defeat to Tulane, 85-75, and Saturday's loss at Houston. … Sophomore swingman Quinton Rose leads the Owls in scoring (16.5 ppg.). Alston averages 15.2 ppg. … Cincinnati has won five in a row, including Sunday's 84-48 victory over visiting Memphis in which 6-foot-5 sophomore guard Jarron Cumberland had 15 points and seven rebounds. Gary Clark added 13 points and 10 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season. … The Bearcats' two losses have been at Xavier and against Florida in Newark, N.J. … Cincinnati is second in the AAC in both scoring offense (80.9 ppg.) and scoring defense (59.1).
