Villanova forward Kris Jenkins has agreed to a free-agent contract with the Washington Wizards, a source said Friday, and is expected to play with the Wizards' summer league team.

The 6-foot-6, 235-pound Jenkins, who hit the three-point shot at the buzzer against North Carolina to give the Wildcats the 2016 national championship, averaged 13.1 points and 4.1 rebounds last season. He shot 38.4 percent from the field, 36.0 percent from three-point range, and 86.2 percent on free throws.

A native of Upper Marlboro, Md., Jenkins knocked down 86 three-point baskets last season and 264 for his career. He finished at Villanova with 1,383 points, 34th on the program's all-time list.

During the Wildcats' championship season, he averaged 13.6 points and 3.9 rebounds, hit 100 three-pointers, and made 45.9 percent of his field-goal attempts and 38.6 percent from beyond the arc.

With the Wizards, Jenkins will be reunited with former 'Nova teammate Daniel Ochefu, who played 19 games as a rookie for Washington last season.
