Police opened up a homicide investigation after a body was found at the home of New York Giants cornerback Janoris Jenkins in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, according to media reports.

Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo told ESPN that the deceased was not Jenkins, but an identity of the victim has not yet been released.

Jenkins was not at his home, apparently spending time in Florida, when the body was discovered. A worker found the body in the basement, the Fair-Lawn Glen Rock Daily Voice reported.

The Giants told ESPN they "are aware of and monitoring the situation."
