Eagles DT Fletcher Cox active vs. Panthers; RB Wendell Smallwood is out
Fletcher Cox returns to the lineup after missing two games. RB Wendell Smallwood is out.
CHARLOTTE — Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox will play Thursday against the Carolina Panthers after missing two games with a calf injury. Cox, who was questionable, worked out before the game after practicing the past three days. The Eagles will also have defensive tackle Beau Allen and defensive end Chris Long, both of whom were questionable with foot injuries.
Running back Wendell Smallwood is inactive with a knee injury. He is missing his second consecutive game. The running backs are LeGarrette Blount, Corey Clement, and Kenjon Barner.
The Eagles' other actives are Ronald Darby, Shelton Gibson, Lane Johnson, Elijah Qualls, Destiny Vaeao, and Jaylen Watkins.
Darby (ankle) and Johnson (concussion) were declared out before the game. Vaeao (wrist) and Watkins (hamstring) were questionable. Gibson and Qualls are healthy scratches. Justin Hamilton is active over Qualls at defensive tackle.
