UP – What other superlatives are left to describe the quarterback? On a night when nothing seemed to go right, Wentz willed the Eagles back into the game and into the lead before the half. And then he went all Superman in the second half. Is there anything he can't do?
UP – Wentz's favorite target once again stuck a dagger into the Redskins. In two games this season, Ertz caught 13 of 13 targets against Washington. Linebackers can't run with him. Safeties can't contain him.
UP – Others will get the spotlight, but the run defense, which has been excellent all season, turned the Redskins offense one dimensional. And when Washington needed to convert two third and ones in the second quarter, Kirk Cousins predictably dropped to pass and the Eagles denied first downs.
UP – Hollins is batting 1.000. Wentz has thrown to the rookie receiver only six times this season, but he has caught all six. Five have been for first downs and his lone grab against the Redskins was a 64-yard second quarter touchdown that finally had the Eagles into the end zone.
DOWN – Wendell Smallwood helped some to improve blocking on third down, but not by much. Eagles running backs – LeGarrette Blount, Kenjon Barner, Corey Clement and Smallwood – need to do a better job of picking up blitzes.
UP – If Peters is done for the season, it will certainly hurt. Hall of Fame-caliber tackles aren't just lying around. But Halapoulivaati Vaitai held down the fort – at least for one night. And kudos to Eagles fans for serenading Peters as he was carted off the field.
UP – The Eagles' pass defense had some early struggles. But Jenkins brought his "A" game. He was stout against both the run and pass and recorded his first sack of the season.
UP – Wentz's improbable pass to the rookie running back – across his body and just before he got hit – will get the headlines. But Clement's catch was spectacular as he got both feet inbounds.
UP – The rookie defensive end recorded his first solo NFL sack and then added another for good measure. Barnett was active from the first snap and played like a future star.
DOWN – Injuries to linebackers Jordan Hicks and Mychal Kendricks forced Goode into a pivotal defensive role. He missed his assignment on Chris Thompson's 7-yard touchdown and was up and down throughout.
UP – Yes, he finally missed a field goal – a 45-yarder late in the fourth quarter. But Elliott was good on his previous 12 and already tied a franchise mark with his fourth field goal of 50 yards or more this season.
