Burlington County. Alyssa Martin came on in relief to retire all eight batters she faced, and Erika Tucker's one-out single in the seventh inning brought home the winning run, completing New Egypt's 2-1 come-from-behind victory over visiting Burlington City.

Colonial. Zowie LoCastro and winning pitcher Kaitlyn Stoltz each had two hits and two RBIs as host Haddon Township turned back Gateway, 8-2.

Staked to a 9-0 first-inning lead, Michelle Arechavala pitched the Green Wave to a 12-1 win over visiting Lindenwold.

Cape-Atlantic. Holy Spirit snapped its season-opening six-game losing streak, as Brooke Hallet (3 RBIs) belted a two-run home run in the first inning to start the Spartans (1-6) on their way to a 10-5 triumph at Ocean City.

Jenna Montana (2 for 3, 2 RBIs, 4 runs) tossed a one-hitter and Nicole Chillari (2 for 4, 4 RBIs, 1 run) homered, helping visiting Bridgeton surprise Our Lady of Mercy, 11-2.

Niche Watford added two hits, two runs and one RBI for the Bulldogs, who had scored a total of 11 runs over their previous six games.

Lacrosse

Megan Tiernan led all scorers with six goals and host Washington Township, ranked No. 4 in South Jersey by The Inquirer, parlayed a strong start into a 17-10 victory over ninth-ranked Cherokee in an Olympic Conference American Division match.

Christina Brennan (4 goals), Brittany Bollendorf (3 goals) and Lauren Breen (2 goals) helped the first-place Minutemaids (6-2 overall, 4-0 division) amass their second-highest score of the season.

Burlington County. Sisters Alex and Mackenzie Hlesciak scored six goals apiece and goalie Dajci Andrews stopped 16 shots, enabling Rancocas Valley to hold off host Northern Burlington, 14-13.

Joan Logan and Hannah Sost combined for seven goals for the Greyhounds.

Cape-Atlantic. Tess Solazzo picked up four of her five goals in a 6-0 second-half surge that allowed Ocean City to pull away from host Mainland, 12-5.
