Thursday's Pennsylvania roundup: Germantown Academy field hockey defeats Episcopal Academy for first time since 2007

Germantown Academy field hockey beats Episcopal Academy for the first time in 10 years to advance to the PAISAA final.

Sammy Popper's go-ahead goal off a corner with under 24 minutes remaining lifted the Germantown field hockey team over Episcopal Academy, 2-1, in the PAISAA Semifinals for its first win over the Churchwomen since 2007. Patriots' Colleen Carrigan recorded a goal two minutes into the game assisted by Maddi Ota. Hannah Santos earned the win in net.

Lauren Curran, Mia Leonhardt, and Ava Leonhardt combined for seven goals as Notre Dame rolled to an 8-0 victory over Agnes Irwin in the PAISAA Semifinals. Sarah Jane Quigley added a goal and two assists. Tina D'Anjolell distributed two assists of her own.

Boys' Soccer

Springside Chestnut Hill broke a 1-1 tie with two second-half goals to defeat Episcopal Academy, 3-1, in the PAISAA Semifinals. The Blue Devils received goals from Dane Harmaty, Peter Kapp, and Luke Vogelman. Owen Elliot made five saves in net to claim the win. Johnny Cunningham posted a goal in a losing effort.

Ryan Wallace notched two goals in the opening 12 minutes to lead Hill School over  Mercersburg Academy, 3-2, in the PAISAA Semifinals. Alex Tullman added a goal and an assist for the Blues. Hill Scholl will take on Springside Chestnut Hill for the title.

Girls' Soccer

Lauren Rodio's goal assisted by Hailee Moran in the first half was the difference in Episcopal Academy's 1-0 triumph over Penn Charter in a PAISAA Semifinal game.

Maddie Niebish, Mo'ne Davis, Emily McNesby, and Kylie Quinn eached scored as Springside Chestnut Hill blanked Westtown, 4-0, in the PAISAA Semifinals. The Blue Devils will face Episcopal Academy for the title.
