St. Joseph's Prep scored 21 unanswered points to beat St. Peter's Prep, 35-27, on Saturday.

Trailing 27-14 early in the fourth quarter, Nicolas Rios came down with the first of three key interceptions for St. Joseph's. After Jack Sutton caught a 20-yard touchdown pass, Liam Johnson intercepted a pass for the Hawks. Kolbe Burrell's ensuing touchdown run followed by a successful two-point conversion made it 28-27 St. Joseph's.

Anthony Leneghan added another pick to set up a Marques Mason touchdown run.

The Hawks' opener last week against St. Frances (Md.) was halted in the third quarter because of lightning.

Play of the day:

Cole Palis threw a touchdown pass to Rory Glackin in the final seconds as Garnet Valley took down Haverford High, 14-7. Palis ran in the two-point conversion to account for the final score. The Jaguars have racked up 111 points during a 3-0 start to the season.

North Penn scored three second-half touchdowns in a 33-7 win over Pennsbury on Saturday. Julian White finished with two rushing scores for the Knights (3-0), who will play Pennridge next Friday.

Patrick Garwo, a Boston College recruit, continued his solid season with three total touchdowns as Conwell-Egan rolled to a 41-14 triumph over Penn Charter. Garwo carried the ball 20 times for 214 yards and two scores while also catching a touchdown pass. Terome Mitchell caught a touchdown pass and returned a pick for a score.

Isaiah Allen's 40-yard touchdown pass from Corey Robinson in the fourth quarter gave Martin Luther King a 6-0 victory over Olney. Nasif Ennis recorded six sacks and Tyrell Mims had three interceptions for Cougars (1-1), who will face West Philadelphia next week.

Zaire Savage and Anthony Swenda scored on the ground as Upper Merion blanked Methacton, 14-0. The Vikings posted their second consecutive shutout after defeating Norristown, 10-0, last week.

Archbishop Wood fell to Bergen Catholic, 21-7, at Rutgers University. Bergen Catholic quarterback Andrew Boel ran for two touchdowns and thew for a score. The Vikings knocked off the powerful Crusaders, 27-21, last year.

Boys’ Soccer

Isaac Brainsky had two goals as Lower Merion held off Penn Wood, 4-1. Harrison Bloch and Lincoln Blouin also found the back of the net for the Aces.

Girls’ Soccer

Cassidy Palazzo's second-half goal lifted Germantown Academy past Archbishop Wood, 2-1. Allison Clark also scored for the Patriots.

Janae Stewart netted two goals in Penn Charter's 2-1 victory over Pennington.

Kennett received goals from Sydney Heimann, Katie LaCosta, and Maddie Sallurday in a 3-1 triumph over Interboro.

Penncrest and Avon Grove played to a scoreless tie after two overtime periods. The Lions played their third consecutive double-overtime match. Bryn McLaughlin turned away seven Avon Grove attempts.

Field Hockey

Ava Borkowski's four goals propelled Plymouth Whitemarsh past Lower Merion, 7-0. Kaleigh Missimer added two goals in the second half for her first tallies of the season. Senior midfielders Sam Spera and Kennedy Reardon controlled the pace of the game and created many attacking opportunities. Goalkeeper Sarah Trask earned her second shutout of the season.
