Lamar Johnson needed only two carries to put the game out of reach. He rushed for a 37-yard touchdown, and took a reverse 47 yards to the end zone as Penns Grove bulldozed Pennsville, 63-3, Thursday, the opening night of South Jersey football. Tyreke Brown also chipped in four touchdowns, including a 28-yard run that gave Penns Grove a 42-0 lead in the second quarter.

With 33 seconds remaining, Thomas Joe-Kamara scored a 22-yard rushing touchdown on fourth down as South Brunswick escaped Lenape, 21-14. Gage Katzenell-Hall set-up the go-ahead score with a 36-yard run to put his squad in Lenape territory. He also threw and rushed for a touchdown in the win.

Lenape's Xavier Coleman and Connor Kennedy each had rushing touchdowns. The Indians capped a tremendous 2017 season with an 11-1 record and their first-ever South Jersey title.

Cherry Hill West nearly made a comeback, but Rashad Raymond gave Cinnaminson the edge in a 34-13 victory over the Lions. Raymond scored four rushing touchdowns, including three that went for 30-plus yards. In 2017, Raymond ended the season with 13 rushing touchdowns. Raymond finished the night with more than 200 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Shawn Ruffin delivered Cinnaminson's other score with a four-yard passing touchdown to Chad Howard in the third quarter.

Cherry Hill West's Nick Arcarolli connected with Carlos Gomez for a pair of scores through the air in the loss. Cinnaminson is coming off an 8-3 2017 season, while Cherry Hill West picked up just one win last year.

Cameron Hammer accounted for four of Middle Townhship's five touchdowns in its 35-7 victory against Cumberland. Karl Giulian also chipped in one receiving and rushing touchdown to help the Panthers seal their first win of the season.

Robert Wilsey and Nick Harmer each had a pair of touchdowns in Sterling's 26-6 victory over Triton.

Paul VI jumped out to an early lead, but Pennsauken's Nahzir Russell took matters into his own hands. The junior scored four straight touchdowns and carried the Indians to a 31-14 win over Paul VI. Russell carried the ball 22 times for 199 yards and three scores. He also caught a 36-yard touchdown pass from Darrion Bovell.
Bovell also carried the ball seven times for 90 yards and a score.

Jaquan Paige opened the scoring with two touchdown runs as Collingswood held off Audubon, 27-14. Michael Jenkins added two scores.
