Friday’s S.J. football roundup: Williamstown survives a scare from Lenape

Wade Inge rushed for a touchdown and broke off a 30-yard screen pass for a score Friday as the No. 2 ranked Williamstown football team defeated Lenape, 12-3.

Sam Aviles took a carry for an 84-yard run with more than a minute remaining as Palmyra knocked off New Egypt, 34-29. Aviles burned the Warriors for two more rushing touchdowns of more than 30 yards.

Number 5 ranked St. Augustine pounded in three rushing touchdowns in a 27-3 victory over Shawnee. Charles Chiango and Isaiah Raikes had scores in the first half while Nasir Hill found the endzone in the second half. Hill's 49-yarder was the longest of the night for the Hermits. Jaylen DeCoteau had a receiving touchdown after halftime.

Freshman quarterback Donovan Leary entered the game late in the first quarter and delivered a key 8-yard rushing touchdown midway through the third to lift No. 7 Timber Creek over Vineland, 24-10. Jayvin Little scored on a 5-yard run in the second quarter. The Chargers' suffocating defense forced six turnovers.

Jada Byers collected four total touchdowns to lead No. 1 St. Joseph over Atlantic City, 56-0.

Jay Foley threw for four touchdowns and ran for another in the first half as No. 3 Haddonfield took down Overbrook, 41-0. Davis Smith caught two scores of 32 and 55 yards for the Bulldogs.

Ryan Yost launched touchdown passes of 57 and 70 yards in the first quarter to Alvaro Lora as No. 8 Holy Spirit upended No. 21 Hammonton, 28-3. Yost hit Ahmed Brown for his third touchdown of the game on an 11-yard strike in the third quarter.

Ramer Nock scored on three rushing touchdowns as No. 6 Camden took down No. 14 Delsea, 45-15. Monte Williams threw two touchdowns in the first quarter, including a 58-yard strike to Nicholas Cataldo.

Marquees Miller took Oakcrest's first offensive snap from scrimmage for a 95-yard touchdown run to ignite a 26-14 win over Egg Harbor Township. Alec Rodriguez caught touchdown passes of 54 and 24 yards in the first quarter for the Falcons. As the Eagles crept within six, Imaari Andrews took an interception back for 53 yards to extend the Falcons' lead to 12 with a minute left.

After clinging to a five-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, Millville broke the game open with a 14-point fourth quarter to defeat Kingsway, 26-7. Eddie Jamison connected with Kyle Yancey for 38 yards and Tex Thompson's 8-yard run sealed it for the Thunderbolts. Jamison threw for three touchdown passes, including another to Yancey. Millville earned its first win of the season.

Rancocas Valley's Cerrome Hill returned the opening kickoff for a 90-yard touchdown to spark a 44-17 victory over Cherokee. Bryce Mangene threw a 42-yard touchdown pass to Hill, returned a fumble for 29 yards, and added a 10-yard rushing touchdown for the Red Devils.

Carlos Gomez rushed for three touchdowns in Cherry Hill West's 43-19 triumph over Seneca. John Ioanucci caught a 32-yard touchdown pass and ran in a 15-yard score for the Lions.

Justin Johnson caught a 76-yard touchdown pass from Danny Grozozski and threw for one of his own from 11 yards to John Norris as Burlington Township topped Moorestown, 23-0. Grozozski had two passing touchdowns for the Falcons.

Justin Milligan hooked up with Kolby Sprague for scores of 11 and 28 yards to lead Maple Shade past Haddon Township, 21-14. Joe Coffin took the second half kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown for the Wildcats.
