Kavon Lewis threw a pair of touchdown passes Saturday as the Penns Grove football team held off Paulsboro, 19-6, in a rematch of last year's South Jersey Group 1 final. The Red Raiders beat Penns Grove, 34-24, in the aforementioned sectional title game. Tyreke Brown caught a touchdown pass and returned an interception for a score. The Red Devils (3-0) have allowed just nine points this season.

Mike Suarez ran for four touchdowns as Eastern blew by Cherry Hill East, 52-6. TJ Franden added two touchdown runs and Andrew Heck and Chase Stafford each scored once on the ground.

Nick Harmer ran for two touchdowns and kicked a field goal as Sterling defeated Haddon Heights, 38-14. Sterling quarterback Rob Wilsey threw for two touchdowns, connecting with Jah'mere Beasley on a 43-yard score and hitting Jarred Matchett from seven yards out.

Pemberton used two early defensive scores to knock off Princeton, 40-0. Larry White returned an interception 97 yards and Ronald Wade recovered a fumble in the end zone. Pemberton quarterback Octaveous Sharkey threw for two touchdown passes, including a 43-yard strike to Tyshawn Walker.

Shawn Donlon ran in two touchdowns and returned an interception for another touchdown as Haddon Township topped Riverside, 47-8.

Field hockey

Ryleigh Heck scored the go-ahead goal as Eastern defeated Oak Knoll, 5-3, in a rematch of last year's Tournament of Champions final. The win snapped Oak Knoll's 30-game unbeaten streak, which included last year's 2-1 win over Eastern in the T of C final.
