Thursday’s South Jersey roundup: Pennsville girls’ soccer scores late goal to sink Woodstown

Morgan Krough scored the game-winning goal Thursday with 14.8 seconds left in regulation to give the Pennsville girls' soccer team a 2-1 triumph over Woodstown. Krough also netted a goal in the first half as Kate Samuels and Madison Halter assisted the goals.

Olivia McMillan put home the deciding goal in the second half to lead Cherokee over Washington Township, 3-2. Claire Mulholland added a goal and an assist for the Chiefs while Kathryn Caminske collected 13 saves.

Kelli McGroarty scored the game's only goal in the first half from Gabriella Payne to lift Eastern over Shawnee, 1-0. Olivia Alves made five saves for the Vikings.

Kayla Branham picked up two goals and an assist as Winslow Township edged Camden Catholic, 3-2. Jania Pitts chipped in a goal for the Eagles.

Ashley Orendac delivered a goal in the second half as Rancocas Valley topped Lenape, 1-0.

Mackenzie Clement scored two goals as Clearview tallied three second-half goals to edge Deptford, 3-2. Elizabeth Bonomo added the other goal and an assist for the Pioneers. McKenna Dalfonso had eight saves in the win.

Alyssa Carfagno and Abby Lutz both scored for Paul VI in a 2-1 overtime victory against Cherry Hill West. Kirsten Nelson had six stops for the Eagles.

Maggie Campbell and Evie Davis each recorded a goal in Haddon Heights' 2-0 victory over Sterling. Rachel Irish had seven stops in net for the Garnets.

Nina Verdecchio paced Penns Grove with four goals and an assist in a 7-0 win over Gloucester. Linnaya Owens added two goals and an assist for the Red Devils.

Lauren Bone registered two goals and an assist as Schalick rolled to a 7-1 win over Glassboro. Nya Salmon contributed a goal and an assist for the Cougars.

Kingsway used a balanced attack of five goal scorers to knock off GCIT, 5-1. Stephanie Martelli made eight saves for the Dragons.

Boys’ soccer

Frankie Knapp notched two goals as Delsea blanked Highland, 3-0. Drew Gant also recorded his first career varsity goal for the Crusaders.

Dennis Olgun delivered an assist and made 18 saves in net to carry Wildwood past Clayton, 3-2. Will Long also had two saves and scored a goal for the Warriors. Tyler Tomlin and Jaxon Tomlin accounted for the other two goals for the victors.

Cullen Rutter's goal assisted by Jim Buchannan lifted Williamstown over Hammonton, 1-0. Gunner Hoffman stopped four shots for the Braves.

Dylan Trow scored on a cross from Sean Caja seven minutes into the game as Audubon beat Collingswood, 1-0. Brady Lord made four saves for his second shutout of the year.

Brett Guetens scored a pair of goals and assisted on Chates Yates' goal as Washington Township defeated Cherokee, 3-0.

Hunter Paone and Trevor Paone each notched a goal as Ocean City topped Mainland, 2-0.

Elkin Bonilla-Hernandez collected two goals and an assist as Seneca downed Timber Creek, 5-1. Luke Leach had two goals and Johnny Meale added another for the Golden Eagles.

Brian Kolacz and Greg Schmied each had goals as Triton topped Cumberland, 2-0. Tyler Guadagno and Evan Samalonis picked up assists on the goals while Tyler Booker made six saves for the Mustangs.

Nicklaude Saint-Juste and Charles Wells represented the scoring for Doane Academy in a 2-0 shutout over Solebury School. Ryan Halasa made six saves for the Spartans.

Field hockey

Charlie Baldwin recorded a hat trick as Woodstown took down Pennsville, 7-1. Shelby Higinbotham contributed two goals and an assist for the Wolverines.
