Friday's Pa. roundup: Roman Catholic storms back to beat La Salle

Seth Lundy scored 22 points as Roman Catholic overcame a 15-point deficit in the second half to beat La Salle, 56-46, in the Catholic League quarterfinals on Friday. Lynn Greer III added 15 points for the Cahillites, who outscored the Explorers by a 24-5 margin in the fourth quarter. Roman Catholic will play St. Joseph's Prep on Wednesday at the Palestra.

Isaiah Wong recorded 32 points as Bonner-Prendergast advanced with an 88-63 triumph over Cardinal O'Hara. The Friars will face Archbishop Carroll in the semifinals.

Kris Shields made a three-pointer as time expired in overtime to give Bensalem a 58-55 win over Pennsbury in the first round of the District 1 Class 6A playoffs. Shields ended with 22 points for the Owls, who will play No. 1 seed Plymouth Whitemarsh on Tuesday.

In other Class 6A play, Naseem Roberson notched 14 points as Downingtown West upset No. 9 seed Garnet Valley, 49-40.

Kenneth Wilson and Jerry Andrews-Foster had 13 points apiece in Martin Luther King's 63-48 victory over Math, Civics and Sciences in the Public League Bracket B semifinals.

Yochua Diaz and Antonio Lewis combined for 30 points as Dobbins defeated Tacony Charter, 56-51, in a PIAA Class 3A play-in game. Kasiem Andrews added five points, 12 rebounds, and six blocks.

Girls' Basketball

Katie Mayock filled the stat sheet with 26 points, 15 rebounds, and seven blocks as Conestoga took down Coatesville, 55-45, in the first round of the District 1 Class 6A playoffs. The Pioneers will play Garnet Valley on Wednesday.

Alana Swift scored a game-high 22 points to lead Imhotep Charter past Sankofa Freedom, 59-36, in the Public League quarterfinals. Latifah Cain and Jordan Dawson had 17 and 15 points, respectively.

Kayah Smith and Ebony Bradford had 24 and 23 points, respectively, as Olney outlasted Audenried, 66-65. Audenried made a late comeback, but Hakira Gant's shot fell short at the buzzer.

Audenried's Denijsha Wilson poured in 49 points to reach 1,500 career points. Samirra Howard-Williams missed the game due to academic reasons.

Olney will play Imhotep Charter in Wednesday's semifinals. Audenried will host Prep Charter in the Class 4A championship game on Wednesday.

In other Public League playoff action, Cassandra Colon finished with 22 points as Mastery South held off Prep Charter, 60-47. Next up for Mastery South is Mastery North, which cruised past Palumbo, 63-47.

Quameerah Gray continued her strong play with 35 points as Math, Civics and Sciences took down Tacony Charter, 58-52, in a PIAA Class 2A play-in game. Gray is one of the state's top scorers.

Lauren Ross paced Shipley with 18 points as the Gators beat Westtown, 51-36, in the PAISAA quarterfinals.
