Tuesday's Pa. roundup: Emily McAteer surpasses 1,000 career points in Garnet Valley's win over Harriton

Junior Emily McAteer scored 30 points and surpassed 1,000 for her career as the Garnet Valley girls' basketball team beat Central League foe Harriton, 69-50, on Tuesday. McAteer also had 10 rebounds and two steals.

Morgan Falcone added 17 points for the Jaguars, who improved to 11-0 overall and 7-0 in league play. Brianne Borcky had 12 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists.

Meg Wilcox guided Harriton with 17 points.

Abington's Samantha Brusha broke the school record for career three-pointers as the Ghosts defeated Truman, 90-37.

Brusha ended with 18 points and made her 117th career shot from beyond the arc. The previous record was 116 held by Jen Kelly, who graduated in 2009.

Pottstown's Ebony Reddick surpassed 1,000 points for her career as the Trojans lost 67-44 to Methacton. Reddick finished with 20 points on Tuesday.

Anna Camden poured in 28 points as Shipley cruised to a 65-34 win over Friends Schools League foe Friends' Central.

Elle Stauffer led a balanced attack with 14 points as Germantown Academy beat Baldwin, 63-32. The Patriots jumped out to a 24-7 lead after one quarter.

Kait Carter notched a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds as Penn Charter held off Notre Dame, 56-53. Carmen Williams had 17 points.

Archbishop Ryan had nine different players score in a 50-29 victory over Little Flower. Taliyah Rahman led with nine points.

Gwynedd-Mercy got past Villa Joseph Marie, 82-48, behind 15 points from Maura Conroy. Reganne Flannery, Carly Heineman, and Julia Masterson all had 10 points.

Maeve McCann finished with 17 points as Bonner-Prendergast handled Bishop McDevitt, 80-41. Alexis Gleason and Emily Monaghen each had 14 points.

Tamaiah Glover scored a career-high 30 points in Esperanza's 50-43 triumph over String Theory.

Freshman Denae Carter had 18 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and four blocks in St. Basil's 49-18 win over Merion Mercy.

Boys' Basketball

Walter Hester recorded five of his 25 points in overtime as Paul Robeson beat Overbrook, 76-73, in a battle for first place in the Public League National Division.

Troy Butler added 14 points, six rebounds, and four steals for Paul Robeson, which improved to 10-2 overall and 5-0 in the division. Robert Tucker ended with 12 points, nine rebounds, and four blocks.

Cyrie Coates and Khalif Washington had 24 and 22 points, respectively, for Overbrook.

Montrell Logan scored a career-high 38 points as Strawberry Mansion held off Palumbo, 88-80. Saeer Miller had 42 points in defeat.

Kharon Randolph notched 22 points and seven assists to lead Haverford School past Germantown Academy, 84-70. Christian Ray finished with 20 points and 11 rebounds for the victors.

Mason Williams and Ryan Holmes recorded 21 and 17 points, respectively, in Penn Charter's 58-52 win over Episcopal Academy.

Ethan Lugo made the go-ahead free throw in the final seconds as Franklin Towne Charter sneaked past KIPP DuBois, 48-46. Lugo finished with 18 points and Nick Castle added 10 points and eight rebounds.

Jayquan Williams poured in 27 points as Frankford took down Engineering and Science, 77-45. Stavin Tukes added 14 points for the Pioneers, who scored 52 points in the second half.

Tajmir Hunt scored 19 of his 25 points in the second half as Roxborough took down Masterman, 67-56. Chazz Person had 28 points in defeat.

Edison's Nathan Rodriguez notched 18 points as the Owls needed overtime to beat Dobbins, 42-40.

Aaron Harrison's 24 points guided West Philadelphia to a 64-58 victory over Washington. James Hill Jr. ended with six points, nine rebounds, and four blocks.

Larry Pear led with 19 points as AIM Academy defeated Mercy Career Tech, 56-48. Mehki Mobley and Tyler Sklut had 12 points apiece.
