Soul acquire wide receiver Markee White via a trade with Los Angeles

The Soul have acquired towering wide receiver Markee White via a trade with Los Angeles KISS, the team announced Wednesday.

In exchange for White's services, the Soul sent the KISS the No. 10 spot in the claim order selection.

"[Markee] White is a very talented athlete," Soul head coach Clint Dolezel said. "We are always looking to improve ourselves and when the opportunity presented itself, we jumped on it. We are excited to get him to Philadelphia and add him to our offense."

The fifth-year wideout out of Texas State stands 6 feet, 7 inches tall, which will make him the red zone target the Soul has been lacking since trading away Larry Brackins.

So far this season, White has caught 53 passes for 523 yards and five touchdowns. He was second on the KISS in all three categories behind former Soul receiver Donovan Morgan.

The Soul will be White's fifth Arena Football League team, as he started with the Spokane Shock in 2010 where he helped them win an ArenaBowl championship. He won another title in 2012 as a member of the Arizona Rattlers, who defeated the Soul in ArenaBowl XXV.
