The Philadelphia Art Museum and the Zoo will be among the institutions that have announced they will be closed on Thursday when the city celebrates the Eagles' Super Bowl victory.

The parade route goes from South Philadelphia up Broad Street to City Hall and then down the Ben Franklin Parkway before ending at the iconic Art Museum steps. A number of institutions across the city are shutting down due to the festivities, which are expected to draw huge crowds to the route and make it difficult to get around many parts of South Philadelphia and Center City.

"In recognition of the @Eagles heroic #SuperBowl win, @philamuseum will be closed 2/8, when the city celebrates with a victory parade that will end on the steps of the Museum. #FlyEaglesFly," the Art Museum tweeted Tuesday.

In some cases, the closing announcements were an opportunity to show love for the world champions.

"The Barnes will be closed Thursday, February 8 as Philadelphia celebrates #superbowlchampions @Eagles with a parade on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway! Let's sing it one more time: #flyeaglesfly," the Barnes Foundation announced in a tweet, which included a video of museum staffers singing the Eagles victory song.

The Philadelphia Zoo and its parking lots will be closed as well.

"By official order from bald eagles, Ritz and Glory, Philadelphia Zoo and our parking locations will be closed to the public Thursday, February 8th in anticipation of the @eagles parade! Go birds! #FlyEaglesFly," the zoo tweeted.

City Council President Darrell Clarke announced that the the council's regular Thursday meeting would be cancelled.

".@Darrell_Clarke: "I have never in my life been so excited to cancel a work meeting." #Eagles #EaglesParade," the council's official Twitter account posted.

Other places that will be closed on Thursday include:

  1. The Academy of Natural Sciences, another popular Parkway destination

  2. The Social Security Downtown Office and Card Center at 1500 JFK Blvd.

  3. Philadelphia courts

  4. Eastern State Penitentiary

  5. The College of Physicians and Mütter Museum

  6. The Franklin Institute

  7. Free Library of Philadelphia

  8. Rodin Museum
