Sixers-Raptors: Reaction to Philly’s blowout loss in Toronto to fall behind, 3-2, in NBA playoffs series

Gone are the nights where Joel Embiid joyfully airplanes his way back to the Sixers bench.

The Sixers fell to the Raptors, 125-89, in Toronto to fall behind, 3-2, in the series on the road. They’ll do whatever they can to stave off elimination in Game 6 on Thursday in Philadelphia.

The second quarter was particularly ugly, as the Raps outscored the Sixers, 37-17. Making it more ugly was this Greg Monroe missed three-pointer:

Ben Simmons, who has been criticized since the Sixers’ Game 4 loss at home for lacking assertiveness getting to the rim, continued to struggle.

Sixers’ coach Brett Brown had a couple appropriate reactions to his team’s turnovers.

The second half didn’t go much better, obviously. Celtics and Raptors fans alike took enjoyment in the Sixers’ demise.
