Fri. S.J. girls’ roundup: Bal boosts Burlington Twp.

Amanda Bal came through with her second game-winning shot of the season, scoring off an offensive rebound with 45 seconds remaining, as Burlington Township held off host Pemberton, 45-43, on Friday in Burlington County League girls' basketball.

Bal and Carin Arline each finished with 10 points, Simi Adewumi contributed 12 rebounds, eight points and two steals, and Alicia Bradley chipped in 10 rebounds and seven assists for the Falcons (4-9). Township's Cierra Ray sank a free throw with 16 seconds left to close out the scoring and cap her nine-point effort.

Tempest Lewis (13 points) and Bria Champion (12) led Pemberton (10-2), which suffered its second loss in the last three games.

In another Burlco clash, Northern Burlington's strong start enabled the host Greyhounds to outrun Moorestown, 40-35. Rachel Dortch (13 points), Marissa Rivera (12) and Shelby Dolan (11) supplied the bulk of Northern Burlington's offense.

Tri-County. Schalick's Victoria Wright had a game-high 20 points, and Joyce Perry and Giselle Ramos picked up three points apiece in overtime to help the host Cougars rally past GCIT, 46-39. The Cheetahs ran out to a 20-13 lead behind the scoring of Kellsey Tulini (12 points) and Sara Duffy (10).

Olympic. Brittany Snow scored seven of her 12 points in the first quarter, igniting a game-opening 29-6 run that started Seneca on its way to a 68-24 rout of visiting Triton. Molly Garthwaite and Johanna Metzger each added 11 points, and Kristy Connor dealt five assists for the Golden Eagles. Triton fell to 1-10, despite getting a game-high 15 points from Deja Bullock.

Cape-Atlantic. Morgan Anagnou had a team-high nine points and Mariah Smolka pulled down 10 rebounds as host Middle Township rallied past Sacred Heart, 39-31.

After scoring just three points in the first half, host Oakcrest awoke with a 23-11 third-quarter surge to put the Falcons in position for their second win of the season. But Millville countered with a 20-6 spree down the stretch to prevail, 42-32, with Courtney Nock (16 points, five steals, five rebounds) and Shatiera Smith (13 points, six rebounds) sparking the Thunderbolts' fourth-quarter fireworks. Rebecca Colquhoun made three three-pointers in scoring 11 second-half points, and Brea Whitehead produced 10 points, 15 rebounds and 5 steals for Oakcrest.

Carlie Senatore (12 points), Sarah Jo Ballman (11) and Katie McCallion (10) provided Wildwood Catholic with balanced scoring in a 50-33 win at Buena. Jasmine Miro's 18 points paced the Chiefs, who were limited to 13 points through the first three quarters before netting 20 over the final eight minutes.

Kerry Players' 14 points and 12 rebounds were not enough to keep host Cape May Tech from falling, 58-38, to Holy Spirit. Tenisha Mobley tossed in 18 points for the Spartans, who improved to 10-2.

Kristine Miller and Mikilia Stefanski had 20 points apiece in Cedar Creek's 54-34 win at Bridgeton.

Jade Howard pumped in 17 points and St. Joseph played smothering defense in a 44-18 victory at Pleasantville.
