The Rancocas Valley Elite Softball Tournament produced two of the most unusual wins of the season on Sunday and both were posted by the same team.

Audubon advanced to Saturday's tournament semifinals by rallying for three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to beat St. Joseph, 3-2, and then shocking Camden Catholic, 1-0, despite being no-hit for nine innings by the Irish's Lauren Messina.

Against St. Joseph, Amanda Hauske tied the game with a two-run double, then was replaced by courtesy runner Shannon Logan. After being sacrificed to third base, Logan scored the game-winner on a wild pitch during an intentional-walk attempt.

Messina struck out 20 batters in nine innings of the quarterfinal game, but suffered the loss when Logan, the baserunner in the international tiebreaker, raced home from third and beat the tag on a bunt by Alex Gravinese. Winning pitcher Hunter Urban threw a five-strikeout, four-hit shutout.

Boys' Tennis

Haddonfield freshman Max Oberholtzer justified his No. 1 seeding at the Camden County boys' tennis championships by winning the singles championship at Eastern.

Oberholtzer, the Bulldogs' No. 1 player, swept teammate Luke Grabiak, 10-9 (7-2), for the crown after beating another Haddonfield player, Matt Godlewski, 6-1, 6-4, in the semifinals of the nine-team competition.

It was an all-Haddonfield doubles final also as Sean Campbell and Isaac Anderson knocked off teammates Max Prescott and Matt Fleming, 6-1, 6-0, for the trophy.

Cody Brown won the outstanding pitcher award and Joe Brooks was named the outstanding player as the pair guided Gloucester Catholic to the championship of the inaugural Pop McKenna Tournament at West Deptford.

Brown pitched the Rams past Cherry Hill East, 10-0, with a two-hitter in the semifinals, and second baseman Brooks hit two-run homers in the fifth and seventh innings of an 11-3 title win against West Deptford.

Brooks finished with five RBIs in the final.

West Deptford, coached by 2001 Gloucester Catholic graduate Mike Rucci, got homers in each game by Tom Jakubowski.

Buena won the consolation matchup, 11-1, over Cherry Hill East behind Anthony Lopez, who pitched a complete game and hit a single, a grand slam, and a two-run homer.

Al Hedelt Tournament. Host Oakcrest advanced to Sunday's semifinals with a 6-4 win over Sacred Heart. Cody Stashak doubled in the Falcons' first run and John Husta added a two-run single.
