Police ID man killed in double shooting

Police have identified a man who was killed in a double shooting in Brewerytown Saturday night at Nashawn Jones, 25, of the 2000 block of West Toronto Street.

Police have identified a man who was killed in a double shooting in Brewerytown Saturday night as Nashawn Jones, 25, of the 2000 block of West Toronto Street.

Around 9:25 p.m., police responded to reports of a person with a gun on the 1700 block of North Newkirk Street. Upon arrival, officers found Jones with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:15 p.m., police said.

A second victim injured in the same shooting was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital in a private vehicle. That 45-year-old man, who was shot once in his chest, remains in stable condition, police said.

Authorities are still working to determine a motive and a suspect in the shooting.
