Clarifi to hold free car buying vs leasing workshop

Clarifi, the Philadelphia-based credit-counseling nonprofit, plans a free workshop Thursday, June 15, to help consumers determine whether to buy a car or lease one.
The workshop, entitled "Buying a Car: What You Need to Know," is scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Clarifi's main office, 1608 Walnut St., 10th floor. Participants will learn what is and isn't typically negotiable during the car-buying process; how to weigh leasing versus buying a car; how to avoid common car-buying scams; and how to shop for loans and protect your credit. Clarifi also offers separate appointments with counselors to identify ways to improve credit and contact creditors.
