Sarah Paulson signs on to M. Night Shyamalan's 'Unbreakable' sequel

American Horror Story's Sarah Paulson has joined the cast of M. Night Shyamalan's upcoming thriller Glass, a sequel to 2000's Unbreakable and 2016's Split.

Paulson is yet another star to join the cast, which includes Unbreakable stars Samuel L. Jackson and Bruce Willis, as well as Split stars James McAvoy and Anya Taylor-Joy. Shyamalan announced addition to the film on Twitter on Monday:

Glass will serve as both a sequel and crossover to Unbreakable and Split, two of Shyamalan's most successful films. Unbreakable stars Willis as security guard David Dunn, a Philadelphia man with superpowers who takes up fighting crime. Split, meanwhile, stars McAvoy as Kevin Wendell Crumb, a Philadelphia man with dissociative personality disorder.

Paulson is a regular cast member of FX's American Horror Story; she has starred in the anthology show since 2011. It was her work as Marcia Clark in The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story that won her both an Emmy and Golden Globe last year. She recently wrapped Ocean's Eight, an all-female spinoff of the Ocean's 11 films.

As Variety reports, Glass is currently scheduled for a Jan 18, 2019 release via Universal. Shyamalan previously announced the film in April this year following Split's $275 million worldwide theatrical run.

It is currently unclear what role Paulson will take in the film.
