Penn opens conference play at home, while Drexel hosts a Charleston team that is tied atop the Colonial Athletic Association

Last meeting: Princeton never led in regulation but defeated the Quakers, 72-64, in overtime, in the Ivy League playoff semifinal, March 11 at the Palestra.

The latest: Penn is off to its best start since 2005-06. … The Quakers lead the Ivy League in seven categories, including points per game (79.4), field-goal percentage defense (41.4 percent), and rebound margin (plus 2.4). … Junior Max Rothschild is averaging 6.6 rebounds, third in the Ivy, and had a double-double against Toledo. … Princeton has won five of its last six, including a road win at previously ranked Southern California. … The Tigers lead the league in three-point shooting (40.8 percent) and threes made (9.2). … Junior guard Devin Cannady is fourth in the Ivy in scoring (18.4 points per game) and first in average minutes played (36.9).

Series: Charleston leads, 7-4.

Last meeting: The Dragons committed 12 turnovers and shot 44.2 percent in an 80-67 loss in South Carolina on Feb. 25. Kurk Lee scored 13 for Drexel. Jarrell Brantley had 22 points and nine rebounds for Charleston.

The latest: The Dragons (6-9, 0-2 Colonial Athletic Association) lost, 107-87, at North Carolina-Wilmington on Tuesday, and have dropped four straight. Lee had 22 points for Drexel, and Troy Harper, who returned from injury, scored 21. The Dragons were outrebounded, 43-24. Leading scorer Tramaine Isabell (19.5 ppg.) missed his third straight game. … Charleston (11-3, 2-0) received a combined 55 points from Brantley and Joe Chealey in a 93-78 victory at home Tuesday against Delaware. The Cougars have won four straight and nine of 10 games. … Chealey, a freshman guard, leads Charleston with  8.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.4 assists. Grant Riller averages 16.9 points and shoots  51.4 percent.
