Chris Therien, a former Flyers defenseman affectionately known as "Bundy," announced on social media last month he was "disappointed" he wouldn't be returning as the "inside the glass" reporter on NBC Sports Philadelphia this season.

But fans will still get their fill of Therien this year, thanks to his new role as lead analyst for NBC Sports Philly's Flyers Pregame Live and Flyers Postgame Live, where he will be joined by host Michael Barkann and WIP morning show co-host Al Morganti. Therien will also cohost a new weekly radio show alongside 97.5 midday host Jason Myrtetus called Fanatic Flyers Weekly, which will air on The Fanatic on Thursdays at 6 p.m.

"Glad to be a part of!!!" Therien wrote on Twitter.

Play-by-play announcer Jim Jackson and alternating color analysts Bill Clement and Keith Jones will return to call Flyers games this season, but NBC Sports Philadelphia has yet to announce if it will fill Therien's previous role with another analyst. It would be unusual to have an NHL broadcast without an inside-the-glass reporter.

NBC Sports Philadelphia will broadcast 70 games this season (eight games will air on NBC Sports Philadelphia+). The Flyers will also appear on NBC four times this season, including two of the network's signature games — the Thanksgiving Showdown on Friday, Nov. 23, against the New York Rangers, and the Stadium Series game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Feb. 23 at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Flyers also announced they had renewed their broadcast partnership with Beasley Media Group, where The Fanatic will remain the flagship station of the Flyers Radio Network (games will air on 93.3 WMMR when the schedule conflicts with Sixers games). Play-by-play announcer Tim Saunders and color commentator Steve Coates will return to call games this season.
