Friday's Pa. roundup: Tyree Pickron becomes Archbishop Wood's all-time leading scorer

Archbishop Wood senior Tyree Pickron became the school's all-time leading scorer in a 59-42 victory over Bishop McDevitt on Friday. Pickron finished with 11 points and has 1,304 for his career. Tim Whalen (Class of 1999) held the previous mark of 1,302.

Kyle Thompson and Darius Kinnel had 23 and 22 points, respectively, as St. Joseph's Prep beat La Salle in a key Catholic League game. Ed Croswell added 14 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks.

Jordan Longino made a jumper with five seconds left to give Germantown Academy a 61-59 win over Episcopal Academy. Longino ended with a career-high 31 points.

Robert Heath had 19 points as Abington claimed its sixth straight Suburban One League National Conference title with a 76-52 triumph over Truman.

Anthony Brown scored 48 points to reach 1,000 for his career, but String Theory fell to Washington, 91-86. Nicholas Diaz and Riccardo Whitfield notched 25 and 24 points, respectively, for Washington.

Girls' Basketball

Anna Camden netted 20 points and pulled down 11 rebounds as Shipley defeated Friends' Central, 60-35, in the first round of the Friends Schools League playoffs. The Gators, who won the PAISAA title last year, will play Moorestown Friends in Tuesday's semifinals.

Kaitlyn Orihel scored 21 points to lead Archbishop Wood past Archbishop Ryan, 52-35. Katie May contributed 16 points for the Vikings, who clinched the No. 2 seed for the Catholic League playoffs.

Olivia Boyle came off to the bench to score 14 points as Council Rock North took down Neshaminy, 61-39, in a Suburban One League National Conference game. Becca Margolis added 15 points for the Indians, who went 20-for-28 from the foul line.

Taylor O'Brien led all scorers with 32 points as Plymouth Whitemarsh cruised past Hatboro-Horsham, 78-20. The Colonials improved to 18-1 overall and 12-0 in the SOL American Conference.
