The highs and the lows: Alshon Jeffery returns, Jalen Mills struggles, Eagles fall in OT | Social media roundup

Video, reaction and more from the internet during the Eagles-Titans game.

What a rollercoaster Sunday's game was.

The Jaguars had just eked out two close wins to carry a 2-1 record into a matchup with the defending Super Bowl champs. The Eagles, also 2-1, were looking to shake a little bit more rust off quarterback Carson Wentz and and leave Nashville with a win.

Not quite.

My colleague Zach Berman has all the details of how the Eagles' defense couldn't stop Marcus Mariota in overtime, resulting in a 26-23 loss for the Birds in Week 4.

But let's revisit Sunday, as told on social media.

Nashville is well-known as "the Music City." Home of the Grand Ole Opry and a prime destination for bachelorette parties galore, the largest city in Tennessee has quite the reputation.

Enter Eagles fans:

Full disclosure: the account that shared this video tells us it did not occur this weekend. But it could have!

This did happen this weekend. Is anyone surprised?

Sunday also marked the return of a fan favorite: Alshon Jeffery was finally active and set to play for the first time since the Super Bowl.

Have to think a lot of Eagles fans had this attitude today.

Jeffery scored his first touchdown of the season in the third quarter on a 16-yard pass from Carson Wentz, which brought the score to 17-3 and made a win seem all but inevitable. Oh, how things would change.

Jeffery finished with eight catches for 105 yards on nine targets, trailing only Zach Ertz's 10 receptions for 112 yards for the Eagles.

Watch out: hot take incoming.

There was another receiver on the Eagles roster who got a ton of attention.

Jordan Matthews scored the Eagles' first points of the game on a huge 56-yard pass from Wentz in the second quarter. Watch:

Matthews is a close friend of Wentz's — he was in Wentz's wedding! — and now, he's back after spending last season with the Bills, although some fans are still hating on him.

Matthews suited up for the Eagles last week vs. Indianapolis, but had a relatively quiet performance. He was targeted twice and had two catches for 21 yards in the win. Sunday, the story was slightly different: he was targeted three times, his only catch resulting in the touchdown.

The Eagles receiver targeted the second-most (after Ertz) was Nelson Agholor, who did not have a great day.

Agholor finished with just five catches for 22 yards while being targeted 12 times. Eagles fans are hoping this isn't a trend.

The Eagles allowed 17 unanswered points in the second half and were bailed out by a last-second Jake Elliott field goal at the end of regulation to extend the game into overtime.

Check out this very cool image of Jalen Mills, shot my by colleague Michael Bryant.

That might have been the only cool thing Mills did all day – especially in the eyes of Eagles fans and our beat writers.

There was a lot of love, however, for Malcolm Jenkins at the end of overtime.

We know Eagles fans might not want to relive that ending, but here it is with some better accompaniment.

Earlier in the game, you could hear the E-A-G-L-E-S chants around Nissan Stadium. Just look at what was greeting the Titans after that game-winning touchdown.

The Eagles fell to 2-2 and return home next week for an NFC championship game rematch vs. the Vikings (who lost, 38-31, to the Rams on Thursday).

Let's quickly scan the NFC East.

The Cowboys would go on to squeeze out a 26-24 win. But worry not: the Giants fell to the Saints, 33-18.

Speaking of Dallas, this caught our attention …

Could #WentzToDez be a possibility? You never know.

Also, because we know you care: Carson Wentz did not rock the Kelly-green/green-screen suit from last week.
